Admission to the international section is by application and entrance test, at every stage of the school career. The test checks that French-speaking pupils are able to follow lessons taught in English, and that pupils arriving from abroad have enough French.
Primary school (CE2, CM1, CM2)
The British section for primary years is at École Adriatique in Reims. Applying starts with an online pre-registration with the DSDEN of the Marne — this step is compulsory — after which candidates are invited to an oral assessment in the third term. Families hear the outcome in June, through their head teacher.
Secondary school (6ᵉ)
The section is at Collège Robert Schuman. After the same online pre-registration, pupils sit an aptitude examination made up of a written and an oral paper. Results come in June with the placement notification (AFFELNET). Entry at other year levels remains possible, exceptionally, where places are free.
Sixth form (2ᵈᵉ, then the BFI)
The British section at Lycée Marc Chagall runs a seconde internationale year, then the première and terminale classes leading to the Baccalauréat Français International (BFI). The application pack is obtained from the pupil’s current school.
- Entry into 2ᵈᵉ internationale: an entrance test, sat by every candidate — English-speaking pupils included.
- Entry into 1ʳᵉ BFI: an entrance test for every pupil not coming from a seconde internationale.
The timetable
It is set afresh each year. Online pre-registration usually runs from late January to early March, admission panels meet in April and May, and results arrive in June. The exact dates change from one year to the next: please check them on the official pages below, or with the school itself.
